Presentazione
My research focuses on The Liberal: Verse and Prose from the South (1822–23), a periodical conceived in Italy, between Pisa and Genoa, but published in London by writers widely known as the second generation of Romantic poets, including Leigh Hunt, Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe and Mary Shelley, as well as William Hazlitt, Thomas Jefferson Hogg, Horace Smith and Charles Armitage Brown.
During my doctoral project, I have not only examined both the history and the contents of the periodical, but also contributed to the development of a digital critical edition, created in collaboration with a wider research team involving scholars from several Italian universities (Bologna, Florence, Parma, Pisa, and Sapienza University of Rome). The online scholarly edition is available at: https://theliberal.unifi.it/.
