Daniela Cherubini (she/her) is Researcher in Sociology of Culture and Communication, at the University of Parma, and part of the "Otras. Perspectivas feministas en investigaciòn social" research group at the University of Granada, Spain.
Her research & teaching focus on theories and practices of intersectionality, connections between gender, migration and transformations of citizenship, care and domestic work, gender-based violence, cultural representations of difference, qualitative methodologies and longitudinal research.
She was a researcher in sociology of culture and communication (RTDa) at the University of Milano-Bicocca (2020-2023), Ca' Foscari University of Venice (2017-2020) and a research fellow at the University of Milano-Bicocca (2011-2016). In 2010 she obtained her PhD in Applied Sociology and Social Research Methodology, and in Women's and Gender Studies, at the University of Milano-Bicocca and the University of Granada. She has worked in numerous national and international research projects, including "SAHWA - Empowering the young generation" (2014-2017), "DOMEQUAL - A global approach to domestic work and social inequalities" (2017-2020), and "ITA.LI - Italian Lives: Survey on life courses in Italy" (2020-2023).
She is the author of the books "Global Domestic Workers. Intersectional Inequalities and Struggles for Rights" (with S. Marchetti, G. Garofalo Geymonat; British University Press, 2021), "Nuove cittadinanze? Donne migranti e pratiche di partecipazione" (Meltemi, 2018), "Llegar a ser ciudadanas" (Editorial de la Concejalia de Igualdad, Alcalà de Henares, 2013) and editor of the volume "Uomini contro le donne? Le radici della violenza maschile" (with S. Magaraggia, Utet, 2013).
In 2012 she was awarded the Maria Izidra de Guzmàn prize for women's and gender studies (Spain).
