Presentazione

Lucia Ghiretti is a PhD student at the Department of Food and Drug Sciences of the University of Parma, under the supervision of Prof. Mena. Her work involves computational approaches in the field of precision nutrition, with a particular focus on the role of phenolic compounds in cardiometabolic health.

Curriculum Vitae

Lucia obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology and a Master's degree in Genomic, Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology from the University of Parma. In 2023, as part of her academic training, she completed a research placement at Wageningen University & Research (the Netherlands), focusing on metabolites derived from (poly)phenols and their potential role in gut health through the use of human organoid models. She subsequently gained industrial experience in 2024 within the Research & Development department of Chiesi Farmaceutici, where she worked as an Analytical Technician supporting the development of inhalation pharmaceutical formulations.

Research

Research areas

Her research activity focuses on the computational integration of multi-omics data, with the aim of identifying the biological determinants of interindividual variability in (poly)phenol metabolism and understanding their implications for cardiometabolic health.
