SOCIAL COMPETENCIES
I am able to relate well with people from different ethnic backgrounds, nationalities and cultures thanks to my many experiences overseas. I studied and lived for 8 months in Liverpool (UK) where I was based at the John Moores University as a PhD student in Nursing. There I was hosted by local families with other students from different nationalities. I lived in Brisbane (Australia) for 2 months, having received the "Australian Travel Award for L'Aquila Researchers" framework, where I was hosted by a local family.
This award funded by "The Group of Eight" allowed me to continue my research on the role of simulation in teaching basic life support and defibrillation techniques thanks to the extraordinary contribution and integration with University of Queensland Academic Staff.
With the same spirit but different goals, I conducted various experiences in Spanish Universities with good results in terms of integration with the hosting Academic Staff and students.
In addition to the experiences already mentioned I have worked, as a staff member, for the Italian Red Cross with people from different nationalities, establishing relationships based on cooperation and friendship especially in the course of the humanitarian emergency on Lampedusa Island (Italy). I have been lecturing and researching in various academic institutions in Italy, Spain, United Arab Emirates and Australia adapting my teaching and networking style according to different cultural habits.
As a consequence of the above-mentioned activities, I am able to establish very good relations that would lead to a profitable collaboration among staff members.
ORGANISATIONAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
I am able to organise work independently, defining priorities and taking responsibility, as a result of the above-mentioned professional experiences, during which I have always been asked to independently manage different activities, setting goals and respecting deadlines.
I am able to work under stress, in situations associated with public relations and respecting deadlines, in my role as Senior Lecturer, Critical Care Nurse Specialist and Volunteer.
At the same time, I am able to foster good relationships with my colleagues in order to create a profitable collaboration.
TEACHING AND IT COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
I am able to plan a course, integrating the research and the application of different teaching methodologies. I know how to adapt the teaching materials to all levels of learning and to the students' interests and needs. I know how to prepare individualised programs and how to teach learning strategies to be applied independently and to the class context.
I'm a daily user of the following operating systems: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Linux (Ubuntu, Mac OS). I'm able to manage Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Power-point, Excel, Outlook and various Internet browsers like Explorer, Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Safari.
I designed and made an Internet web site by myself by using the open source software called Joomla and I'm currently committed in developing and updating the same website.
I'm able to manage and delivery teaching materials through Canvas, Moodle and VLE.
