I am a Lecturer in Economic and Global History at the University of Parma (Italy). I was previously a Lecturer at the University of Salento and before that a research fellow at Bocconi University in Milano (2020), at the University of Genoa (2017-2020) and at the University of Brescia (2011-2013). For some months in 2014-2015, I was a visiting research fellow at Blackfriars Hall, at Oxford University. I study the primary sector and food production in Early Modern and Modern history and the history of tourism, especially in relation to demographic trends and infrastructural and economic changes of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. I deal with economic, financial and social history, with particular attention to private bankers in the XIX century. Another topic of my research is tourism history and disability. I have presented more than 70 papers at conventions in Italy and abroad.
