Fracture mechanics of structural materials - Evaluation of resistance to the propagation of defects in material fatigue of metal matrix composites - Analysis of the toughening mechanisms through frattografia of the fracture surfaces and the location of the defect; - Analysis of the resistance to the propagation of defects in welded joints in PMMC friction stir welding. Micromechanics modeling - Microstructural modeling of the mechanical behavior of materials with heterogeneous structure; - Analysis of localization phenomena in the distribution of stress and strain, and the interaction between the main features (phases of the matrix, reinforcement, inclusions, porosity); - Study of the mechanisms of damage at the meso-and micro-scopic.
