She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Technology (L-38) and subsequently a Master’s degree in Animal Science and Technology (LM-86) at the University of Padua. She earned a PhD in Animal and Agri-Food Sciences (29th cycle, Agri-Food Sciences curriculum), with a dissertation awarded the ASPA Award (2016).

After research fellowships and grant positions at the Universities of Padua, Sassari, and Parma, on 31 December 2021 she was appointed as a PON-funded RTD-A researcher at the University of Parma (Department of Veterinary Sciences, GSD 07/AGRI-09). Since 31 December 2024, she has been a fixed-term type-B researcher (RTD-b) in Special Animal Science (SSD AGRI-09/C; formerly 07/G1 AGR/19). She is currently also the Head of the MilCA laboratory.

Her research interests include milk quality and technology, cheese-making efficiency, mineral profile, coagulation properties, and non-destructive spectroscopy and sensor technologies (FT-IR, NIR, Raman) applied to milk and PDO cheeses.

Education:
BSc (L-38) and MSc (LM-86) in Animal Science and Technology (University of Padua); PhD in Animal and Food Science (University of Padua, 2017; dissertation awarded the ASPA Award 2016).

Academic positions:
Research fellowships and grants at the Universities of Padua, Sassari, and Parma; PON EU Green RTD-A fixed-term researcher (12/2021–12/2024); RTD-b fixed-term researcher (since 31/12/2024) at the Department of Veterinary Sciences, University of Parma; National Scientific Qualification (ASN) for Associate Professor (sector 07/G1) since 23/12/2019.

Research lines:
Milk quality, cheese-making efficiency, total and differential somatic cell count, milk composition and mineral profile (cow, sheep, and goat milk), predictive models, and spectroscopic techniques (FT-IR, NIR, Raman) for quality assessment and authentication of PDO cheeses.

Projects:
CowMeTec – SRG08 (Principal Investigator); University Research Grant 2023 (Principal Investigator); PON EU Green (RTD-A); COST STSM (SensorFINT); H2020-RISE COWFICIENCY; FARM4PR; USEFUL; FARM-INN. Collaborations with CNR-IBBA, TEAGASC, and OCQPR.

Her Third Mission activities focus on knowledge and technology transfer along the milk-cheese supply chain, through dissemination, training, and technical-scientific support to companies, consortia, and control bodies. Over the past two years, she has been invited as a speaker at sector-specific conferences and seminars (including AITeL) on milk quality, cheese-making efficiency, and spectroscopic methods (FT-IR, NIR, Raman); in parallel, she has coordinated webinars and contributed to technical and professional journals.

She maintains ongoing collaborations with stakeholders across the supply chain to develop applied solutions, including work with OCQPR on predictive yield curves for Parmigiano Reggiano PDO, with Nutristar SpA, and with several dairy plants on quality control and process optimization projects. At the international level, she carried out a Short-Term Scientific Mission (COST SensorFINT) on the integrated use of NIR and Raman spectroscopy for non-invasive authentication of PDO cheeses. Her activities have received recognition in the fields of dissemination and knowledge transfer.
