Teacher's social mediaTeacher's activitiesExam scheduleClass schedule Curriculum Vitae Read all Federico Bergenti received his Ph.D. in Information Technologies from the University of Parma (Department of Information Engineering) in 2002. From the same University, he obtained a Laurea degree (M.Sc.) in Electronic Engineering in 1998. From 1998 to 1999 he worked for CSELT S.p.A. (Centro Studi e Laboratori Telecomunicazioni) in Turin. From 2000 to 2006 he worked for CNIT (Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni) at Parma research unit. From October 2007 he is Researcher in Computer Science at the University of Parma and he is affiliated to the Department of Mathematics and Informatics. From October 2007 he is Professor of several courses for the Computer Science Degree of the University of Parma. Federico’s research activity has been mainly devoted to Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering, with special regard to multi-agent systems. In the domain of Artificial Intelligence he has worked on issues related to agent communication languages and their semantics. In the area of Software Engineering, he initially worked on architectures for agent-based middleware; then he concentrated on issues related to reusability and strong decoupling in agent-based systems. Federico is among the founders of the JADE initiative (jade.tilab.com) and he is still active in the research community of Agent-Oriented Software Engineering. More recently, he turned his interests towards agent programming languages. In particular, he is interested in approaches that rely on constraint logic programming. Federico participated in many research projects funded by the European Commission within the 5th and the 6th Framework Programme (mainly IST/RTD) that dealt with issues related to multi-agent systems and their applications. Federico coordinated various scientific initiatives, among which the organization of many international workshops. Since 2006, he is part of the Senior Program Committee of AAMAS international conference. In 2014 he hosted IEEE WETICE conference in Parma and he is Program Chair of WETICE 2016.
