Beatrice Centi formerly student and then researcher at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa from 1981 to 1998, charged professor of History of Moral Philosophy and History of Contemporary Philosophy at the University of L'Aquila from 1992 to 1998, associated professor of Moral Philosophy (Philosophical Anthropology) at the University of Parma from 1998 to 2001, is full professor of History of Philosophy at the University of Parma since 2001.
She was Director of Philosophy Department at Parma Univeristy (2009-2012);
Co-ordinator of the Doctorate "Philosophy and Anthropology" at Parma University (2005-2015);
Vice-president of Italian Society for Kantian Studies (2007-2016);
Referee of XI International Kant Congress (Pisa 2010);
Director of “Human Sciences” Section of SSIS (1999-2009);
Co-ordinator of the Research-Unity at Parma University taking part in Research Projects of relevant national interest (PRIN) co-ordinated by Franco Bianco (1999, 2001), Gianna Gigliotti (2006), Fulvio Tessitore (2008), Franco Biasutti (2010-2011/16).

She is President of Parma Section of SFI (Italian Society of Philosophy);

Member of the Executive Committee of National Council of Philosophy since 2007;

President of the National Council of Philosophy since 2016;
Co-editor of the collection “Itinerari filosofici” of “Mimesis” Publishers, Milan.

She is member of the Advisory Board of the “Journal of transcendental Philosophy”, of the “Bollettino della Società Filosofica Italiana”, of the journal “La Società degli Individui”.

She has organized the first international Colloquium (Parma, 28-29 March 2003) on the ethics of Edmund Husserl.
She carried out researches at the Universities of Wien (with DAAD funding), München (with DAAD funding), Marburg (with DAAD funding), Bremen, Göttingen, Berlin.

The main volumes resulting from her researches are: Antonio Labriola. Dalla filosofia di Herbart al materialism storico (Bari 1984, with funding of CNR); L'armonia impossibile. Alle origini del concetto di valore in R. H. Lotze (Milano 1993, with funding of CNR), Coscienza, etica e architettonica in Kant. Uno studio attraverso le Critiche (Pisa-Roma 2002), Fenomenologia della ragion pratica. L’etica di Husserl (edited with G. Gigliotti, Napoli 2004), Values and Ontology. Problems and Perspectives (edited with W. Huemer, Frankfurt a. M. 2009), Tra corpo e mente. Questioni di confine (Firenze 2016), and many articles both on Kant and Neokantianism and on history and problems of Phenomenology.

Her researches focus mainly on the following areas: 1) Kant's Philosophy; 2) german and italian Philosophy in the nineteenth and in the twentieth Century; 3) Logic and Psychology in Herbart, Lotze, Brentano, Meinong, Husserl and in the Neokantianism; 4) Philosophy of Value and Normativity in Neokantianism, in Phenomenology and in the contemporary Constructivism.
