Author of more than 200 scientific works published in national and international journals and published as abstracts at national and international conferences.

Several training periods (from 1994 to 2000) aimed at carrying out scientific research activities at the "Biochimie de la Différenciation" laboratory of the Jacques Monod Institute - Université Paris VII - Paris (France).

Carries out basic and applied scientific research in the virological and microbiological fields. In particular, the basic research activity is focused on the study of the interaction between different strains of viruses with cellular models with different degrees of permissivity, in order to highlight the role of specific cellular factors in resistance to viral infection.

HOSPITAL CARE ACTIVITY

Carries out care activities in the sub-sectors of “Virology, Serology” and “Molecular Virology and Advanced Diagnostics” of the Virology Operating Unit of the Diagnostic Department with Integrated Activities of the Parma University Hospital Trust, aimed at virological investigations to assess serological markers of viral infection, qualitative/quantitative research of viral nucleic acids, genotyping of viruses and determining mutations responsible for drug resistance and the implementation of various management aspects. Since 2017, he has been responsible for the Simple Structure “Molecular Virological Diagnosis and Epidemiology” of the Virology Operating Unit of the Diagnostic Department of the Parma University Hospital Trust.
