Dr. Maristella Adami was born in Verona in 1955. She graduated at the University of Parma in 1980. She has been working at the Institute of Pharmacology of the Medical Faculty in Parma since 1980 (since 2002, Section of Pharmacology, Department of Human Anatomy, Pharmacology and Forensic Medicine). Dr. Adami took her PhD in “Pharmacology and Toxicology” in 1990 at the University of Padova. Researcher since 1990, she teaches at the Medical School of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Parma. The scientific work of Dr. Adami has been exercised in the Institute of Pharmacology, in collaboration with the other teachers of the Institute. Moreover, Dr. Adami has been conducting research programs with other Italian Institutes (Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pisa; Institute of inspections of food of animal origin, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Parma) and foreign Institutes (Department of Technology and Biotechnology of Drugs, Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland; Department of Veterinary Pathobiology, University of Minnesota, Minnesota, U.S.A.; Griffin Discoveries BV, Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Heinrich-Heine-Universität, Institut für Pharmazeutische und Medizinische Chemie, Düsseldorf, Germany; Institute of Physiology, Bulgarian Academy Sciences, Sofia, Bulgaria; Leiden/Amsterdam Centre for Drug Research, Amsterdam, The Netherlands). Dr. Adami is author of approximately 70 papers published in international journals such as: Br.J.Pharmacol., Naunyn-Schmiedeberg's Arch.Pharmacol., Dig.Dis.Sci, etc. and she participated to about 40 international congresses.
