In 1999, Ph.D. in Forestry Economics at the Department of Economics, Trento University, discussing the thesis “An operative tool for the environmental certification: the ecobalance”.
From Academic year 1998/99, responsible for the relationships with some foreign Universities within Socrates/Erasmus project.
Today, she is researcher within the Faculty of Economics at the University of Parma, Italy. She has been carrying out research on quality management related to agrifood chain. In particular, she is expert for problems related to the introduction of product and process certification into the SMF of the agrifood sector. Her research interests include also economic impact of traceability standards, PDO, PGI and organic certification on local production systems.
She takes part in several EU projexts, among them MEDAFOR (MEditerranean Desertification And FORestry), DOLPHINS (Development of origin labelled products Humanity, innovation and sustainability), “WELFARE QUALITY” (Integration of animal welfare in the food quality chain: from public concern to improved welfare and transparent quality) and SINER-GI (Strengthening International Research on Geographical Indications: from research foundation to consistent policy).
Over the last few years, she has been teaching “Marketing of the agrifood sector” and “Agri-food economics” at the University of Parma.
