Veterinary Doctor graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Parma in October 1989 with the vote of 110/110.
University Researcher in 1995, since 2005 Associate Professor in SSD VET 05 at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences of the University of Parma.
Institutional activity
She has held various institutional roles: Delegate for inbound guidance activities for the Graduate Course in Veterinary Medicine, member of the Tutorate Commission and the Paritetic Committee for Education; Member of the Commission Admission to the First Year of Graduate Course in Veterinary Medicine as well as the Italian Language Examination Commission for Foreign Students and the Student Careers Commission; Delegate to departmental education.
Director of the School of Specialization in Animal Health, Breeding and Livestock Productions from 2009 to 2018 (D.R. No. 811).
CINECA Reviewer from the year 2010.
In February 2011 she was elected by the Academic Senate and the Board of Directors to be part of the Commission aimed at adapting the Statute of the University of Parma to the rules contained in art. 2 of the law 240/10.
On the same date she was appointed Secretary of the Italian Veterinary Association of Public Medicine (AIVEMP).
On 27 April 2011, she was appointed by the Rector, (with her delegation), President of the Commission referred to Article 2 of the "Regulation for the Management of Welfare Interventions for University Staff".
In November 2013 she was appointed Pro-Rector for the Didactic Activities at University of Parma ending her term on 31 October 2017.
In June 2014 she was appointed scientific representative of the regional project (Emilia-Romagna) Sybilla (Prediction Microbiology).
Discipline Expert Anvur (on-site visits and accreditation of newly established courses at a distance) since 2015.
Reference in Crui of the RUS working group on "Sustainable Education".

Educational activity
Lecturer of the module of "Microbiology and Veterinary Immunology" in the Degree Course in Veterinary Medicine; lecturer of the module of "Infectious Diseases, Hygiene and Prophylaxis of Farms" in the Degree Course in Zootechnical Sciences and Technologies of Animal Productions; Lecturer of the module "Environment and Health: Priority and Criticality" in the Graduate Course in Innovative and Sustainable Animal Productions; lecturer of the Course of choice (proposal of the university within the so-called "cross-skills") in "Sustainable Development".
She is a lecturer in the following Schools of Specialization: "Animal Health, Breeding and Livestock Productions" and "Inspection of Foods of Animal Origin".
Scientific Activity
Her scientific activity is documented by a total of 137 printed memoirs and a chapter on online book: Current Protocols in Toxicology 21:21.3.1–21.3.11, Assessment of Enteral Bacteria UNIT 21.3; In 2015 she published the essay "Antimicrobial Susceptibility of Enterococcal Species Isolated from Italian Dogs" within the book Antimicrobial Resistance - An Open Challenge, ISBN 978-953-51-2222-7 of which she is Editor

She carried out epidemiological studies of different bacterial agents with a potential zoonosic character in the pig population (Helicobacter spp. and Bacillus cereus, Salmonella, Yersinia), beef (Staphylococcus aureus) and equine (Clostridium difficile) as well as in pets (dog and cat) in which the presence of Enterococcus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas and Proteus, Clostridium difficile and forfringens was monitored. She analyzed, for each isolated jamb, profile of virulence and resistoma. Parallel studies are currently being staged, from a high level, to assess the sanitary level of the pig supply chain in the regional and extra-regional context, with a particular focus on the identification of ESBL strains of Escherichia coli, and on the other, to assess gut microbiota biodiversity within different animal species by analysing and estimating possible interactions on the human microbiota (bifidobacteria population).
