Dr. Botti has prevalently investigated topics dealt in Neurology. In particular, the research has been aimed to localize the site of neurons innervating the pelvic skeletal and smooth muscles. Immunohistochemical methods have been used to identify the neurochemical content of some of these neurons, and of nerve fibres and of autonomic neurons innervating the vasal and non-vasal component of pelvic smooth and striated muscles. Other studies have concerned the sensory innervation of the ostrich digital pads and its nasal mucosa, of the coypu limb articular joints and digital pads and of the proctodeum of different species of birds, moreover, the sensory and motor innervation of the ostrich palate and of the vascular nerve bundle of the neck of goose snd chicken.
Finally, the structural features of the ovarian ligament of different species of domestic animals and the morphology of the Ruminant and Equine auditory ossicles have been investigated.
