He graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Parma and holds an MA in Italian Language Teaching Methodology and a Phd in Linguistics and Modern Language Teaching Methodology (Ca’ Foscari University in Venice).
At present he works as a full professor in Modern Language Teaching Methodology at the University of Parma.
Moreover: member of the administrative board of Parma University (CDA); Vice-director of the e-learning nd multimedia Centre of the University of Parma; coordinator of Laboratorio di Glottodidattica of the same university.
He has worked as a teacher trainer for FL teachers in Italy and abroad since 1991 and held lectures, courses and seminars at numerous institutions and universities.
He has written over eighty articles and essays in the field of Educational Linguistics and a dozen of books of the same disciplinary areas. His main fields of research are bilingual education and language acquisition; neuroscientific aspects of language learning and teaching; teaching Italian as a FL; language learning, teaching and assessing for academic purposes; language policies.

Author of a number of teaching materials and textbooks, on paper and multimedia, for Italian and Spanish as a foreign language, Italian as an L1.
