• (March 1999-September 2000) Fellowship in Hematology at the INSERM U463, Nantes (France) on the pathopshysiology of bone lesions in multiple myeloma and the role of RANKL in myeloma-induced osteoclast formation. (Prof. Regis Bataille)
• (Jannuary 2001-2003) PhD degree at the University of Parma with a thesis entitled: “Role of RANKL in the pathophysiology of bone lesions in multiple myeloma”

Lines of research

Professor Giuliani has malignant hematology as his area of expertise. In particular, his expertise concerns the biology, pathophysiology and innovative therapies of multiple myeloma. Most of his research activity has been focused on the role of the bone marrow microenvironment in the pathophysiology of osteolysis and bone disease, on the mechanisms of tumoral neoangiogenesis and on the identification of new therapeutic targets in multiple myeloma.
