She played a key role in the scientific development of the analytical chemistry research group of the University of Parma concerning the following topics:
- the development and validation of analytical methods based on chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques for the identification and determination of small molecules and proteins. Applications in environmental, biomedical, agrofood, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical analysis.
- the application of experimental design techniques to analytical procedure optimization and of multivariate statistical analysis to food quality and authenticity
- the development of novel materials for miniaturized extraction techniques and for DESI- and MALDI-mass spectrometry
- the development of analytical methods based on the use of SEM/ESEM techniques for the characterization of novel materials and for the detection of nanoparticles for food safety and environmental monitoring
- the development of innovative electrochemical biosensing devices for the determination of biomarkers in medical diagnostics as well as of compounds of environmental and food interest.
