RESEARCH ACTIVITY 2009 - until now
- Structural Biology. Methodology: Integration of multinuclear, multidimensional NMR spectroscopy, Circular Dichroism, fluorescence spectroscopy, molecular biology and molecular dynamics calculations for the study of the solution structure and dynamics of proteins and biologically active peptides. Aims: to discover new protein folds and to understand the mechanism of action of those molecules; to develop a vaccine for the therapy of asthma in children.
- Metabolomics. Methodology: Use of high-resolution NMR to study normal and pathological cells metabolome. Aims: current project is the identification of markers to assess the quality of red blood cells during storage in blood bank conditions. Optimizations of blood storage protocols.
