• 1/11/2005: Ricercatore (Researcher) at the Facoltà di Farmacia (Faculty of Pharmacy), Università di Parma.
• 1/11/2008-30/09/2013: Ricercatore confermato (Researcher) at the Facoltà di Farmacia (Faculty of Pharmacy), Università di Parma.
• 1/10/2014-30/10/2023: Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the Dipartimento di Farmacia before and after at the Dipartimento di Scienze degli Alimenti e del Farmaco Università di Parma.

• Visiting Scientist (2006, 2007) at the School of Chemistry, University of Bristol (UK), in the computational chemistry group of Prof. Adrian Mulholland (https://mulhollandgroup.wordpress.com).
• Visiting Scientist (2008) and Scientific Consultant (2010) at the Drug Discovery and Development Department of the Italian Institute of Technology, Genova, led by Prof. Daniele Piomelli.
• From 2013 to 2016 he has been Visiting Fellow at the "Faculty of Health and Life Sciences" of the Northumbria University, Newcastle, UK.
