RESEARCH
Elisabetta Manconi main area of research activity has concerned methods for predicting higher frequency structural vibrations and wave propagation. Main research topics are: development of methods for elastic and acoustic wave propagation characterisation, analysis of the dynamic performance of composite and advanced materials, analysis of wave propagation, scattering, and band-gap formations in waveguides (including fluid-structure interaction) and periodic structures, dynamic modelling for high frequency vibrations. Theoretical and experimental dynamic modelling of structures and mechanical systems is a further area of research.

Elisabetta Manconi has been author of a number of articles published in international peer-reviewed journals and proceedings of conferences; she is a reviewer of more than 10 international peer-reviewed journals, and she has been chair and co-chair of technical sessions of International Conferences; she has been also the organizer of the technical symposium “Wave propagation and its applications in fluids, Complex Solids and structures”, for the 22nd International Conference on Sound and Vibration, July 2015, Florence, Italy.

Elisabetta Manconi has been an effective member of the examination boards in numerous commissions for the curses of belonging to the S.S.D. ING-IND/13 (Mechanics Applied to Machines) and related sectors. He has assisted the students, carrying out the activities of tutorships and office hours. She has been also a member of the graduate and post-graduate commissions in Management Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, presenting candidates as supervisor or co-supervisor. She is a member of the Degree Committee of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Parma, which oversees the Faculty’s Degrees and Master Degrees. She is also a member of the Doctoral School in Industrial Engineering of the University of Parma and she has been a member of the Committees for post-doctoral positions at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Parma. She has also been supervisor and co-supervisor of several PhD theses.
