1974: graduation in philosophy at the University of Parma with a thesis on the French Personalism.
1979: post-graduate diploma in History of Philosophy at the University of Parma, with thesis on Bergson’s moral thought.
1976-1980: research scholarship, during which I taught courses on H. Bergson, J.M. Guyau, L. Lévy-Bruhl, E. DurKheim, H. Spencer, A. Bain, J.S. Mill, C. Bernard .
1980-2002: researcher at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Parma. I regularly teach courses on the history of contemporary philosophy and on moral philosophy.
2002 to present: associated professor of Moral Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Parma. I am member of the teaching staff for the doctorate program “philosophy and anthropology” at the University of Parma.
My research and teaching interests are in the areas of ethics, phenomenological psychology, history of moral philosophy in the French and German philosophical tradition, with a particular attention to those philosophers who – like M.Scheler, J.P.Sartre, M.Merleau-Ponty – work in the fields of phenomenology and hermeneutics. At present my research is focusing on ontology, psychology, and ethics in Merleau-Ponty’s philosophy
