She is currently a fixed-term researcher in Hydraulic Engineering at the University of Parma (Department of Engineering and Architecture), where she worked as a post-doctoral fellow between 2016 and 2021. She received a degree in Environmental Engineering (B.Sc. in 2010, M.Sc. in 2012) and a PhD in Civil Engineering (in 2016) from the same University. In 2020, she achieved the National Scientific Qualification for the degree of associate professor.

Her main research interest is the development and application of numerical models for flood simulation, focusing both on the implementation of 2D shallow-water codes with enhanced computational efficiency thanks to GPU parallelization, and on field-scale engineering applications of flood simulations (e.g., river flood propagation, urban inundations, levee-breach and dam-break flows, hydraulic hazard assessments). Additional research fields include machine-learning methods for flood forecasting, local time stepping algorithms, numerical modelling of unsteady mixed flows.
