2011-Membership as Scientific Partner of the Academic Spin Off "GenProbio srl.". The mission of GenProbio is the developing of new probiotic bacteria for food- and pharmaceutical- industries (www.genprobio.com).
Research activities:
The research expertise of the applicant covers a number of different topics, all related to bifidobacteria and LAB species:
-Genomics of probiotic bacteria (probiogenomics);
-Functional genomics of intestinal commensal bacteria;
-Host-microbe interactions in the human gut;
-Functional genomics of stress responce in bacteria;
-Investigation of the biology of bacteriophage of LAB.
