Presentazione

Matteo Bedogni earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemistry from the University of Parma. In 2025, he began his PhD within a dual doctoral program between the University of Parma and the University of Angers. His doctoral project is supervised by Anna Painelli (Parma) and Narcis Avarvari (Angers), with Flavia Pop serving as co-supervisor (Angers). His research focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and theoretical investigation of chiral semiconductors and chromophores for optoelectronic and spintronic applications.

  • Theoretical and computational modeling of C3-symmetric organic chromophores for spintronic and optoelectronic applications.
  • Theoretical modeling of the Chirality-Induced Spin Selectivity (CISS) effect, with a focus on the interplay between molecular chirality, spin–orbit coupling, and spin-dependent electron transport.
  • Modeling of optically active molecular aggregates, investigating excitonic coupling, chiroptical properties (CD and CPL), and the relationship between molecular structure and optical response.
  • Development of theoretical models and quantum-chemical approaches to describe electronic structure, excited-state dynamics, and spin-dependent phenomena in chiral molecular systems.
