Presentazione

Davide Persico è laureato in Scienze Naturali e ha svolto il dottorato di ricerca sui nannofossili calcarei per comprendere l'evoluzione paleoclimatica e paleoceanografica del Cenozoico. Nel 2006 e nel 2007 è stato membro del programma internazionale di ricerca in Antartide "ANDRILL", con cui ha partecipato a due missioni scientifiche sul continente. È autore di 70 articoli scientifici pubblicati su riviste nazionali e internazionali, prevalentemente dedicati alla ricerca paleoecologica, paleoclimatica e paleoceanografica dell’Oceano Meridionale. La vita sul fiume Po, gli interessi naturalistici e la passione per la paleobiologia lo hanno portato a conoscere e studiare la paleofauna quaternaria della Pianura Padana, pubblicando articoli e monografie in merito. Attualmente è professore associato e docente di paleobiologia, museologia naturalistica e cambiamenti climatici globali. Dal 2022 è direttore scientifico del Museo di Storiografia Naturalistica (MUST) dell’Università di Parma.

  • Parma e l’Altrove. Le Vie Antiche oggi

    Il progetto - finanziato con i Fondi di Ateneo per il Public Engagement (FAPE) - propone di (ri)connettere luoghi, persone, memoria e quotidianità nella Parma di oggi, attraverso le antiche vie delle spezie e delle sete, la dimensione del viaggio e della produzione, trasformazione e uso delle merci. L’obiettivo è riflettere sul rapporto tra il passato e il presente urbano, interrogandosi su due questioni centrali: da un lato, cosa conosciamo dei Paesi attraversati da queste vie, oggi coinvolti in migrazioni, guerre e crisi climatiche; dall’altro, come il confronto con questi "Altrove" possa arricchire la nostra percezione della quotidianità. Attraverso pratiche sensibili ed esperienze urbane condivise, i cittadini saranno coinvolti in un percorso poetico e partecipativo che favorisce un dialogo autentico con la diversità, senza stereotipi. Il progetto esplora le connessioni storiche e contemporanee tra Parma e questi altrove, valorizzando l’intreccio tra saperi locali e lontani.

  • Giornata Internazionale dei Musei: Musei, sostenibilità e benessere

    Musei, sostenibilità e benessere è il tema della Giornata Internazionale dei Musei cui aderisce anche l’Università di Parma con un incontro in programma per giovedì 18 maggio a partire dalle 9 nella Sal Don Boarini dell’Orto Botanico e organizzato dal Sistema Museale di Ateneo. Nel corso del convegno sono previsti gli interventi di Alessia Bacchi , Delegata del Rettore per l’Attività museale di Ateneo e Direttrice del Museo di Cristallochimica, del Direttore dell’Orto Botanico Renato Bruni , del Responsabile collezioni e del Direttore scientifico BIOMED (Museo e Biblioteca Storica Museale di Biomedicina) Fulvio Barbaro e Roberto Toni , del Direttore del Museo di Storia naturale Davide Persico e di Margherita Zazzero dello CSAC- Centro Studi e Archivio della Comunicazione.

  • "Una settimana STEM: prove tecniche di vita universitaria"

    Attività Laboratoriali di tipo chimico, biologico, biotecnologico, di scienze ambientali e scienza dei materiali realizzate congiuntamente dai PLS di biologia/biotecnologie, chimica e scienza della natura e dell'ambiente. Ogni studente partecipante prende parte ad attività che si svolgono nell'arco di una settimana per un totale di 35 ore. L'iniziativa è rivolta a studenti delle classi quarte di scuole superiori situate nella maggior parte dei casi a Parma, Reggio Emilia, Piacenza, Mantova, La Spezia, Cremona, Massa e relative province
