Born in San Severo (FG) in 1983, she obtained her Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Parma in 2007. At the same university, she earned a PhD in Industrial Engineering in 2012.

In 2010, she participated as a member of the research staff in the S.CO.R.E. (Stove for Cooking, Refrigeration and Electricity) Project at City University of London, carrying out experimental work aimed at improving the energy efficiency of biomass heat generators.

In 2017, as an invited academic visitor, she conducted research on rarefied gases at the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh.

She is currently a Tenure-Track Researcher (IIND-07 – SSD IIND-07/A) at the Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Parma.

Her research activity mainly focuses on the analysis of passive techniques for enhancing convective heat transfer, using both numerical and experimental methodologies. In particular, using a numerical approach, she has studied the effects of so-called "scale effects" on the convective heat transfer coefficient, also investigating the heat transfer phenomena characterizing electro-osmotic flows in miniaturized channels.

At the same time, by applying both numerical and experimental methods, she has analyzed the effects of other passive techniques, such as wall corrugation and channel curvature, aimed at optimizing heat exchangers.

Her scientific production, which began at the international level in 2012 and has continued steadily to the present day, is published in leading scientific journals in the field of Applied Physics.
