Research
Research areas
- Modeling of cellular toxicity induced by amyloid formation in yeast and mammalian cells to investigate the cellular mechanisms underlying proteotoxic stress and to identify natural and synthetic compounds with anti-aggregation activity.
- Development of innovative biotechnological tools to investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying Parkinson's disease and to identify novel biomarkers for its early diagnosis.
- Nanotoxicology studies using different model organisms (yeast, plants, human cell lines, and animal models) aimed at identifying the cellular mechanisms underlying the toxicity of different engineered nanomaterials.
- Chemogenomic approaches in yeast to characterize the cellular mechanisms underlying the biological activity of bioactive compounds.
