Dr. Tecla Ciociola was born in San Giovanni Rotondo, Foggia, Italy, on May 17th, 1983.
She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology (grade 110/110 cum laude) at the University of Parma in 2005 and a Master’s degree in Industrial Biotechnology (grade 110/110 cum laude) at the same University in 2007.
She obtained her PhD degree in Immunology and Experimental and Comparative Immunopathology at the University of Parma in April 2011 after a three year-fellowship granted by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (2008-2010).
From July 2011 to November 2015, she was appointed by a Post-doctoral Research Fellowships at the Microbiology and Virology Unit of the Department of Biomedical, Biotechnological and Translational Sciences (S.Bi.Bi.T), University of Parma.
From December 2015 to January 2024, she was a Researcher, currently Associate Professor in Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology at the Department of Medicine and Surgery, University of Parma.
Since 2008 she serves as tutor and supervisor for students of the degree courses in Biological, Biotechnological and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Since 2016, she is a member of the teacher board of the Research Doctorate programme in Molecular Medicine of the University of Parma.
She has been involved in research projects funded by national and international Institutions, co-authored publications in national and international journals and attended many national and international congresses.
She is a member of the Italian Society for Microbiology.
