Carlo Varotti gradueted at University of Bologna in 1985. Since 1987 to 1999 he taught, as permanente state teacher, ancient Literatures in high schools and (since 1992) Latin and Italian culture. Since 1999 to 2006 he menaged the Italian Studies library of Bologna University. Since 2007 is assistent professor in Italians Studies Department of University of Parma.
His main research fields are: Renaissance political thought and Renaissance; XVth and XVIth Century Historiography; Manzoni and romantic drama; the XX century novel. He also take interest in literature teaching method, writing textbooks for secondary schools (publishers: La Nuova Italia, Calderini, Bruno Mondadori), and teaching in “S.S.I.S” (Master’s degree for secondary school teachers).

Carlo Varotti gradueted at University of Bologna, with degree thesis about Tacito’s influences in Guicciardini’s political thought and historiography. Since 1987 to 1989 he partecipated in researches of A.R.U.B. (“Archivio Rinascimentale e umanistico di Bologna”). Since 1989 he taught ancient Literatures in high schools; since 1992 to 1999 he was Latin and Italian culture permanent state teacher. Since 1999 to 2006 he menaged the Italian Studies library of Bologna University. Since 2007 is assistent professor in Italians Studies Department of University of Parma.
His main research fields are: Renaissance political thought and Renaissance; XVth and XVIth Century Historiography; Manzoni and romantic drama; the XX century novel. He also take interest in literature teaching method, writing textbooks for secondary schools (publishers: La Nuova Italia, Calderini, Bruno Mondadori), and teaching in “S.S.I.S” (Master’s degree for secondary school teachers) in universities of Bologna (2002-2007), Parma (2007-2009) and Bressanone (2003-2009).
