I graduated in Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Parma in 2002, then I obtained a M.A. in Foreign Languages applied to international Business at the University of Parma in 2003 and a Ph. D in German Literature at the University of Pisa in 2008. After completing my Ph.D, I held temporary teaching positions at the Universities of Parma (2008-2018), Modena (2016) and Macerata (2012-2016). From 2008 to 2012 I received a grant for research in German Language and Translation Studies at University of

Parma. In 2013-2014 I coordinated the E-learning and testing activities of the University Language Center in Forlì (University of Bologna). In 2022 I received a grant for research in German Translation Studies at the University of Catania.

First from 2019 to 2021, and then again since 1 March 2023 I have been a lecturer at the University of Parma, Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Cultural Enterprises, where I teach German linguistics and German Translation studies in BA and MA degree courses. In 2020-2021 I was responsible for the Quality Assurance of the BA degree course in Modern Foreign Languages and Civilizations at the University of Parma.

I was awarded Mario Soldati’s Literary Prize in 2002 by the Pannunzio Studies Centre in Turin (2nd Place in the “Journalism and critics” Section) Merano Europa Literary prize in 2009 (1st Place in the “Translation” section).

I am a member of the Scientific Committee of the journal La Torre di Babele. Rivista di letteratura e linguistica, of the Scientific Committee of the book series "L’eredità di Babele" (Monte Università Parma) and of the editorial board of the peer-reviewed “LACE – Linguistic And Cultural Education”, http://www.cla.unipr.it/it/pubblicazioni/lace-linguistic-and-cultural-education/81/ . I am a member of the following Centres, Laboratories and Working Groups of the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Cultural Enterprises of the University of Parma: the laboratory of "Environmental Social Humanities" and the "Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Neurosciences and Humanities". I am also a member of the Italian Association of German Studies (AIG).

My academic output has followed various research directions, often correlated or interacting, which concern in particular three areas: 1) translation studies; 2) stylistics; 3) digital tools for teaching German. My interests range from literary texts, above all from the Baroque period, to specialized communication, particularly in the medical and economic fields. In many papers I have investigated how contrastive linguistic and textual analysis can be useful for translation purposes. I am also the author of literary and sectoral translations, among which a special mention is due to the publication in Italian of the essays by the Viennese critic Joseph Peter Strelka collected in the volume The twentieth century between literature and politics. International itineraries. I also translated Abraham a Sancta Clara’s rhyming incipits of the Centifolium Stultorum (1707) into verse.
