I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the History of Medieval Philosophy (PHIL-05/C) at the University of Parma. My research focuses on the history of late medieval and Renaissance philosophy, with a particular emphasis on topics and issues intersecting with the history of early modern science. Specifically, my interests center on the figure of Giordano Bruno, the various manifestations of Renaissance Aristotelianism, and the relationship between natural philosophy, magic, and scientific discourse. I hold the National Scientific Habilitation (ASN) for the role of Associate Professor in the History of Philosophy (11/C5).
Since 2026, I have been a member of the research team for the ERC Starting Grant project “FICTA” – Fictional and Impossible entities, Counterpossibles and Thought Experiments. A study of medieval theories of impossibility and their contemporary relevance, directed by Irene Binini. Further information on the project is available here.
Together with Irene Binini, I coordinate “Laboratorio Utopia”, a public engagement and student orientation initiative within the framework of the 2026–2027 Researcher@School program at the University of Parma. More information on the project can be found here.
During the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic years, I served as an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Philosophy, Communication and Performing Arts at Roma Tre University.
From March 2024 to August 2025, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Naples Federico II, working on the PRIN PNRR 2022 project “PHUME” – Paradoxical Humanism and Environmentalism (PI: R. Carbone).
Between October 2020 and February 2024, I held a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Istituto Nazionale di Studi sul Rinascimento in Florence. There, I contributed to the creation of the four-volume work L’età nuova, supported by funding from the “Regione Toscana” and published in 2025.
In 2020, I earned my PhD in Philosophy from the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. My doctoral dissertation provides a new critical edition and the first Italian translation of Giordano Bruno’s Latin commentaries on Aristotle’s natural philosophy. The work is currently in press with De Gruyter-Brill (more information is available here). During my doctoral studies, I was an Exchange Fellow at the Warburg Institute in London.
In the 2014–2015 academic year, I held a postgraduate fellowship at the Istituto Nazionale di Studi sul Rinascimento in Florence, as part of the GiovaniSì Project promoted and funded by the “Regione Toscana”.
From 2006 to 2011, I was an honors student at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, receiving the “Diploma di Licenza” in Philosophy in 2012 (equivalent to a second-level Master’s degree).
In 2011, I obtained my Master’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Pisa, defending a thesis on the philosophical and political concept of the ‘bond’ in the Renaissance.
