Lisa Bortolotti is a philosopher of the cognitive sciences and editor-in-chief of Philosophical Psychology (Taylor & Francis). Her most recent monograph is Why Delusions Matter (Bloomsbury 2023). She also coauthored with Kengo Miyazono a textbook, Philosophy of Psychology: An Introduction (Polity 2021).
In her research, she works on the limitations of human cognition and agency, and in particular irrational beliefs, delusions, biases, and conspiracy theories. She is also interested in the philosophy of medicine and biomedical ethics, and she is an investigator in project EPIC, Epistemic Injustice in Healthcare (2023-2029).
