Dr. Stefano Renzetti is a Tenure-Track Researcher (RTT) at the University of Parma, in the Scientific Disciplinary Sector of Medical Statistics (MEDS‑24/A).

His academic training began with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (2011). He later obtained a Master’s Degree in Biostatistics at the University of Milano‑Bicocca, during which he conducted a research period at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (2015). He subsequently earned a PhD in Epidemiology, Environment and Public Health at the University of Milan (2017–2020), with a dissertation focused on the development and application of advanced methodologies for the analysis of environmental mixtures.

Since 2025 he has been an RTT at the University of Parma; previously, he served as a Type A Fixed‑Term Researcher (2022–2025) at the University of Brescia, within the National Operational Program (PON) “An exposomic approach for health and sustainable development.” He gained international research experience in the United States, working at institutions such as the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY, and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, MA.

From a teaching perspective, he has held numerous teaching appointments in bachelor’s degree programs, specialization schools, and advanced training courses at various Italian universities (Parma, Brescia, San Raffaele in Milan, Università Cattolica). Dr. Renzetti has actively participated in funded research projects, serving as a biostatistician in several initiatives supported by national and international agencies, including NIH/NIEHS and the Italian Ministry of University and Research.

His research activity focuses on biostatistics applied to public health, with particular attention to the study of health effects of complex environmental exposures, the development and implementation of innovative statistical models, and the epidemiology of air pollution.

He has received awards and recognitions such as the Maria Chiara Magri Prize (2023), awarded by the scientific journal Epidemiologia e Prevenzione for an innovative work on the development of the Weighted Quantile Sum (WQS) regression method, and the award for best abstract at the ICAR 2021 congress for the work entitled “Endocrine pathways of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in people living with HIV.”

He has participated in numerous national and international scientific conferences, contributing through posters and oral presentations, and serving as invited speaker, moderator, and organizer of conference sessions.

He is a member of scientific societies in the field, including:
– International Society of Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE)
– International Biometric Society (IBS)
– Italian Biometric Society (SIB)
– Italian Society of Medical Statistics and Clinical Epidemiology (SISMEC)
