Ilaria De Noia is a research fellow in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Parma. Her current work focuses on climate change adaptation in cities, using an integrated approach to active mobility systems and paying particular attention to citizen involvement.
She obtained her Ph.D. (Doctor Europaeus) in Civil Engineering and Architecture from the University of Parma, exploring the role of soil de-sealing as a climate change adaptation strategy in urban contexts. During her research semester at the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, she studied the role of citizen preferences and perceptions in urban climate adaptation processes.
Since 2022, Ilaria De Noia has provided teaching support for the Urban Planning and Regeneration course within the Architecture Regeneration Sustainability degree program at the University of Parma. Since 2025, she has been a lecturer for several modules of the PRIN 2022 MOVING StEPS project MOOC.
Her research journey began at the University of Trento, where she graduated in Building Engineering-Architecture in 2021 with a thesis investigating Nature-Based Solutions for sustainable territorial development.
