Beatrice De Francesco is a research fellow at the University of Parma on the project Dicolab – Culture Goes Digital, which involves collaboration between the University and the ABAP Superintendency of Parma and Piacenza for the cataloguing and digitisation of the Glass Plate Collection of the Photographic Archive of Artistic Heritage. At the same university, she has worked on the project PhySol-FHC – Phygital Solutions for Fragile and Hidden Collections and earned a PhD in Contemporary Art History with a dissertation entitled Carlo III and Luisa Maria of Bourbon. A Decade of Artistic Commissions in the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza through Archival Sources (1849–1859). Since September 2022, she has collaborated on the PRIN project Italian Feminist Photography. Identity Politics and Gender Strategies, aimed at creating a digital collection designed to gather and enhance the contribution of women to the history of Italian photography. She is currently completing a second-level Master’s degree in Digital Humanities at the University of Milan and is a member of the scientific secretariat of EXHIBIT – Laboratory/Centre for the Study of the History of Exhibitions.
