Beatrice De Francesco is a research fellow at the University of Parma on the project Dicolab – Cultura al digitale, which involves collaboration between the University and the ABAP Superintendency of Parma and Piacenza for the cataloguing and digitisation of the Glass Plate Collection of the Photographic Archive of Artistic Heritage. At the same university, she has worked on the project PhySol-FHC – Phygital Solutions for Fragile and Hidden Collections and earned a PhD in Contemporary Art History with a dissertation entitled Carlo III e Luisa Maria di Borbone. Un decennio di commissioni artistiche nel ducato di Parma e Piacenza attraverso le fonti d’archivio (1849-1859).
Since October 2022, she has collaborated on the PRIN project Fotografia femminista italiana. Politiche identitarie e strategie di genere, aimed at creating a digital collection designed to gather and enhance the contribution of women to the history of Italian photography.
In January 2026, he obtained a second-level Master’s degree in Digital Humanities at the University of Milan and is currently a member of the scientific secretariat of EXHIBIT – Research Centre for the History of Exhibitions.
