About

I am Associate Professor of Logic and Philosophy of Science in the Department of Humanities, Sociales Sciences and Cultural Industries of the University of Parma. I've also held positions at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), University of Tübingen, Boston University, and Boston College.

In 2010, I received my PhD from the Department of Philosophy at Boston University under the supervision of the late Jaakko Hintikka. Before moving to the New World, I completed my undergraduate curriculum, also in philosophy, at the Scuola Normale Superiore and the University of Pisa.

I'm a founding member of the Association of Analytic Metaphysics in the Italian-Speaking World (AMAMI), as well as member of the Center for Logic, Language and Cognition (LLC), the Society for the Metaphysics of Science (SMS), the Metaphysics Collaborative, the European Society for Analytic Philosophy (ESAP), and the Italian Society of Analytic Philosophy (SIFA).

Research areas

I specialize in metaphysics and its interaction with neighboring areas, such as logic, philosophy of science, and philosophy of language. I'm especially interested in the metaphysics of modality, laws of nature and counterfactuals, indeterminacy of both semantic and metaphysical variety, metametaphysics and metaontology.
