Other appointments

visiting professor

Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences di Cambridge (Inghilterra), in the frame of the Research Program KIT - Partial Differential Equations in Kinetic Theories, organized by J.A. Carrillo, S. Jin, P.A. Markowich, in September 2010.

visiting scholar
Research fellowship at CMLA (Centre de Mathematiques et de leurs Applications), Ecole Normale Superieure de Cachan (France), in the frame of the European Project HyKE ("Hyperbolic and Kinetic Equations"), in January-February 2005.

PhD in "Mathematics, Statistics, Computational Sciences and Informatics" at University of Milan, in February 2005.

Lines of research

My research activity is essentially devoted to kinetic theory, not only for rarefied gases, but also for problems with non-conservative phenomena as chemically reacting mixtures, polyatomic particles, granular media, socio-economic sciences.
