Pieralberto Tarasconi graduated in Chemistry at the University of Parma in 1974.

At the same University he worked as:

  i) Responsible for practical Laboratory experiences of Chemistry (1974-1983);

  ii) Assistant Professor at the Chair of Structural Chemistry (01/05/1977-31/01/1978); 

  iii) Temporary Appointed Professor of General Chemistry (10/01/1980-10/03/1980);

  iv) University Researcher at the Institute of General Chemistry (1983-1987);

  v) Associate Professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry (SSD CHIM/03) from 1987 until

      now.

Since 1974 the research activity of Prof. Tarasconi has concerned the area of coordination compounds and his main interests are in the synthesis and in the spectroscopic and structural studies of organotin derivatives, of molecular complexes with biological activity and of metal compounds containing new organic polyfunctional ligands. For several years now his scientific interest has also been directed towards the synthesis and characterization of new metal based drugs and to the evaluation of their in vitro activity.
