Claudio Cipolat Gotet earned his PhD in Animal and Food Science at the University of Padua. Since 2022, he has been Associate Professor in the S.S.D. AGR/19 Animal Science, SC Animal Sciences and Technologies 07/G1 at the University of Parma. In 2023, he obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification for Full Professorship.

Within the University, he holds several institutional roles. He is President of the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Animal Science and Technologies/Animal Science, a member of the Institutional Animal Welfare Body (OPBA), of Area Committee 07 – Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences, of the University Food Project, and of the Academic Board of the PhD Programme in Veterinary and Animal Sciences.

He teaches in several undergraduate programmes at the University of Parma, offering courses in Animal Production Science, Dairy Cattle Farming Techniques and Quality Parameters in Animal Production.

His research activities focus on milk technological quality and cheesemaking aptitude, the development of predictive models for cheese yield based on infrared spectroscopy, production efficiency in Parmigiano Reggiano, Grana Padano and other PDO supply chains, the study of genetic and environmental factors affecting milk quality across species, and the application of genomic and advanced phenotyping methodologies to animal selection. He has participated as principal investigator or team member in numerous research projects funded by public institutions, the Ministry of Agriculture, PDO Consortia and companies from the dairy sector.

Professor Cipolat Gotet is the author of more than 90 indexed scientific publications with over 2,000 citations (Scopus, 2025). He also serves in several editorial roles: Editor for the journal Animals (Cattle section), Associate Editor for Frontiers in Nutrition – Food Chemistry, and Editor for Scientific Reports.
