Davide Ferrari is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical, Life and Environmental Sustainability Sciences at the University of Parma, with extensive experience in clinical biochemistry, molecular biology, and laboratory medicine. His research lies at the intersection of epidemiology, laboratory diagnostics, and clinical data analysis, with a particular focus on the statistical analysis of retrospective longitudinal datasets and the validation of diagnostic methodologies.

He has extensive experience collaborating with the Laboratory Medicine Service at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, contributing to the study and monitoring of infectious diseases, the optimization of laboratory workflows, and the development of epidemiological indicators based on real-world data. His approach integrates molecular and biochemical knowledge with clinical and population-based studies, supporting public health surveillance and the efficiency of healthcare systems.

In academia, Davide Ferrari is actively involved in teaching clinical biochemistry, laboratory diagnostics, and biochemical analysis across several undergraduate courses, delivered both in Italian and English, as well as supervising students and trainees in laboratory medicine and molecular diagnostics.

He has received numerous international fellowships, including EMBO and Marie Curie, and has a significant scientific output with 67 publications indexed in SCOPUS, an h-index of 25, and over 2,400 citations.

Research and Academic Profile

Associate Professor with interdisciplinary expertise at the interface of epidemiology, laboratory medicine, and molecular diagnostics. My research activity focuses on the statistical analysis of longitudinal retrospective epidemiological data integrating clinical and environmental variables, the development and validation of diagnostic methodologies, and the translation of laboratory data into clinically and epidemiologically meaningful outcomes.

I have extensive experience in hospital-based epidemiological research, particularly through a long-standing collaboration with the Laboratory Medicine Service at San Raffaele Hospital (Milan, Italy), one of the largest tertiary care centers in Europe. My work integrates laboratory analytics, methodological comparison, and real-world environmental and clinical data to support public health surveillance, infectious disease monitoring, and health system efficiency.

My background in molecular biology and biochemistry complements my epidemiological work, allowing me to bridge molecular-level data with population-based clinical and epidemiological studies.
