MA in 1970, Faculty of Arts in Pisa University and Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. 1970-1976 several scholarships in Scuola Normale Superiore and other Universities. 1977 to 1991 Lecturer and later on Associated Professor of Economic and Social History of the Ancient World in the Faculty of Arts of Genoa University. 1991 to 2000 Associated Professor of Greek Antiquities and Epigraphy in the Class of Arts of the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. In 2000 Director of the Laboratory of Historical-Archaeological Topography of the Ancient World and of the Computering Laboratory for Ancient Languages of the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. Director of the Workshop "G. Nenci" (Erice, December 2000). 2001 to 2018 Full Professor of Greek History in the Faculty of Arts of the Parma University. 2005 to 2009 Coordinator of the teaching staff of the Doctorate in History in the same Faculty. 2009 to 2016 President of the 1st Cycle Degree in Humanities and of the 2nd Cycle Degree in Classical and Modern Philology and Literature. 2010 to 2016 Deputy Director of the Department of History and then of the Department of Arts, Humanities, History and Society of Parma University. 2017 to 2018 Coordinator of the Unit of History in the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Cultural Enterprises of Parma University. PI of PRIN 1998 (only for the year 1999). Coordinator of a unity of research in PRIN 1999, PRIN 2001, PRIN 2007, PRIN 2009. Co-editor of the Lexicon Historiographicum Graecum et Latinum (Pisa, 2004-). Member of the scientific board of some periodicals and series of monographs. Author of 84 contributions (among them three books), mostly articles in books and periodicals and papers read in national and international congresses, in the following fields of research: Greek history and Greek historiography; history of North-Western Greece; social and economic history of the Greek world; Greek epigraphy; modern historiography on the ancient world.
