2001: scholarship in Criminal Procedure at the Faculty of Law, University of Turin

1999: graduate with honors and honorable mention in Law at the University of Turin, awarded in December 14, 1999, with a dissertation on Criminal Procedure, "The principle of free conviction of the judge" (supervisor Prof. Ferrua)

Fabio salvatore Cassibba's main fields of interest are the preliminary investigation and the preliminary hearing in the Italian criminal procedure as well as the Fair trial rights in criminal proceedings both in the Italian Constitution and in the European Convention of Human Rights.

He wrote a monograph by Giuffré publisher, about “The preliminary hearing. Structure and functions” (2007), as well as many essays and case notes, published by the major Italian journals concerning Criminal Law and Procedure.
