Faustino Fabbianelli is Associate Professor of History of philosophy at the “Dipartimento di Discipline Umanistiche, Sociali e delle Imprese Culturali”. He studied at the University of Florence and at the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa. For many years he carried out research activities between Switzerland and Germany, where he received important scholarships. Before Parma, he taught at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität of Munich, at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität of Freiburg i. Br., at the University of Calabria and at the University of Cagliari. He has been “DAAD-Gastprofessor“ at the LMU of Munich. 2004 to 2006 he was “Ricercatore“ of History of philosophy at the “Dipartimento di Filosofia e Teoria delle Scienze Umane” of the University of Cagliari, from 2006 to 2015 “Ricercatore“ of History of philosophy first at the “Dipartimento di Filosofia”, then at the “Dipartimento di Antichistica, Lingue, Educazione, Filosofia” of the University of Parma. From 1th January 2016 he is “Presidente del Corso di Laurea Magistrale Interateneo in Filosofia”.
His fields of research are Classical German philosophy, Italian philosophy, German phenomenology and German Enlightenment. He has mainly dealt with issues related to transcendental philosophy, ontology and psychology.
