Luca Veltri received his Master degree in Telecommunication Engineering in 1994 and Ph.D. degree in Information and Telecommunication Engineering from University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 1999.

From 2002 he is Assistant Professor at University of Parma (Italy), where he teaches classes on Communication Networks, and Network Security. From 2014 to 2017 he have been the Director of the UniPR Co-Lab, a Cross-Department Research Center for learning and digital publishing support. From 2015 to 2017 he have been the Delegate for the networking of the University of Parma.

Before joining the University of Parma, from 1999 to 2002, he has been with CoRiTeL, a research institute on telecommunications, where he leaded different research projects in networking and multimedia communications.

He participated in several research projects founded by the European Union (projects ELISA, DISCREET, SIMPLICITY, OFELIA and CALIPSO), by the European Space Agency (project ROBMOD-2), by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (PRIN projects NEBULA, CRIMSON, TWELVE and PROFILES), and by the Regione Emilia-Romagna.

His current research interests include Internet of Things, Software-Defined Networking, and Network Security. He is co-author of more than 70 papers on international conferences and journals, and co-author of some IETF internet drafts.
