Scientific Research Activities

Dr. Compari’s research activity has mainly focused on the study of solution equilibria involving biologically active molecules.
She is the author of approximately 70 scientific papers published in international peer-reviewed journals.

Main Research Areas

* Investigation of pyridinium gemini cationic surfactants as potential non-viral vectors for gene delivery.
* Thermodynamic study of interactions between ligands with potential activity as metalloenzyme inhibitors and biologically relevant divalent metal ions.
* Investigation of interactions between bile salts and soluble dietary fibers aimed at optimizing cholesterol-lowering foods.
* Statistical thermodynamic study of hydrophobic hydration processes.
* Development of statistical thermodynamic models to describe hydrophobic bonding and receptor–ligand interactions.
* Study of aggregation processes in biologically active surfactant systems.
* Investigation of solution equilibria of biologically active molecules.
* Thermodynamic characterization of biomolecular interactions using **Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC)

Research Funding

She has participated in several research projects funded by the **Italian Ministry of University and Research (MIUR)** and other national funding agencies in the fields of Physical Chemistry and supramolecular systems.

Scientific and Conference Activities

Author of approximately 70 scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals and participant in numerous national and international conferences in the field of Physical Chemistry applied to biological systems.
