Supervision and Training Activities

She supervises and co-supervises Bachelor’s and Master’s theses (SSD BIOS-12/A – Human Anatomy) in the Degree Programmes in Sports and Exercise Sciences, Biotechnology and Translational Biomedical Sciences.

She also conducts practical classes and teaching laboratory activities (SSD BIOS-12/A – Human Anatomy) in microscopy, flow cytometry and interactive dissection laboratories, contributing to the practical and methodological training of students enrolled in the following Degree Programmes:

• Master’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (courses: Anatomy I and Anatomy II);
• Master’s Degree in Translational Biomedical Sciences (course: Elements of Human Anatomy);
• Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology (course: Histology and Human Anatomy).

She also participates in Biomedical Research Clerkship laboratory activities for the SSD BIOS-12/A, addressed to students of the Master’s Degree Programme in Medicine and Surgery (English-taught).

Research Activity

The research activity is carried out within the field of Human Anatomy (BIOS-12/A), with particular focus on the morphological and functional study of cellular differentiation and the pathogenetic mechanisms involved in the haematopoietic and cardiovascular systems.

The research interests include:

• differentiation of haematopoietic stem cells under physiological and pathological conditions;
• thrombopoiesis and platelet function;
• role of inflammation in myeloproliferative neoplasms;
• identification of diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers in haematological and cardiovascular diseases.

Up to February 2026, the research activity has resulted in 28 peer-reviewed scientific publications, with an H-index of 13 and 656 total citations, as well as numerous presentations at national and international conferences.

Member of the Editorial Board of the international scientific journal Frontiers in Hematology as Review Editor in the section Red Cells, Iron and Erythropoiesis.

Reviewer for international scientific journals, including Frontiers in Hematology, Communications Medicine, Cancers (Basel) and International Journal of Biometeorology.

Co-author of the textbook “Anatomy for Sports Sciences” (EdiSES, ISBN: 9788836232161).
