Education and training Graduated in Medicine and Surgery on July 14, 1997, with a grade of 110/110. Thesis in Orthopedics: "Prosthetic Treatment of Degenerative and Inflammatory Knee Disease" (Supervisor: Prof. E. Rinaldi).
Licensed to practice as a Medical Surgeon in the first session of 1998, with a grade of 88/90.
Registered with the Parma Province Medical Association since 1998.
During the 1999, 2000, and 2001 competitive seasons, he served as team doctor for the Serie A1 Baseball Team of the Parma University Sports Center (CUS), in partnership with the University of Parma and the Parma University Hospital.
From November 25, 2001, to December 8, 2001, he participated in the humanitarian mission organized by the Institute of Orthopedic and Traumatology Clinic of the University of Parma at the Sick Assistance Center in Khulna, Bangladesh, performing outpatient orthopedic-traumatology and surgical activities as a first operator and assistant/assistant.
He attended the Department of Orthopedics at Karolinska Hospital (Karolinska Institutet) in Stockholm from January 14, 2002, to May 31, 2002, as part of the "Socrates" university program, performing outpatient orthopedic-traumatology and surgical activities as a first operator and assistant/assistant and preparing his specialization thesis in collaboration with Professor Richard Wallensten.
His time at the Karolinska Institute was divided as follows:

He obtained his Specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology on 6/11/2002 at the School of Specialization in “Orthopedics and Traumatology” of the University of Parma, presenting the thesis “Bernese periacetabular osteotomy in congenital hip dysplasia” (Supervisor: Prof. E. Rinaldi) with a grade of 50/50 and honors.
 

Main activities and professional experiences carried out He was a visiting specialist at the Institute of Orthopedic and Traumatology Clinic from November 15, 2002, to January 31, 2003.
From February 1, 2003, to March 31, 2003, he signed a private practice contract as Medical Doctor Orthopedist at the Parma Hospital (Orthopedic Clinic Unit). This contract was renewed from April 14, 2003, to March 30, 2004, and then from April 1, 2004, to December 30, 2004. Effective July 1, 2003, this contract was extended to include on-call work at the Orthopedic Clinic Unit.
From January 17, 2005, to January 31, 2005, he worked as Medical Doctor Orthopedist at the Parma Hospital, Osteoarticular Department, Orthopedic Clinic Unit.

He was appointed University Researcher for the Scientific Disciplinary Sector Med/33 Diseases of the Locomotor System at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Parma, with affiliation to the Department of Surgical Sciences, Section of Orthopedics, Traumatology and Functional Rehabilitation, effective 01/02/05 and confirmed as such from 04/02/2008, a position he held until 25 July 2012. From 25 July 2012 to 30 September 2014 he affiliated with the Department of Surgical Sciences, Section of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the University of Parma with the same qualification.
He obtained the national scientific qualification for the role of Associate Professor in the competitive sector 06/F4 [Call for Applications 2012 (DD No. 222/2012)] with a communication dated December 27, 2013.
From October 1, 2014, he has held the position of Associate Professor in Musculoskeletal Diseases (SSD MED/33) at the Department of Surgical Sciences, which later became the Department of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Parma. He provides healthcare services at the Orthopedic Clinic of the University Hospital of Parma.
He has been qualified as a First Level University Professor for GSD 06/MEDS-19 - Diseases of the musculoskeletal system and physical and rehabilitation medicine since 10/01/2020 (SSD MEDS-19/A “Diseases of the musculoskeletal system”) (formerly Competition Sector 06/F4 - DISEASES OF THE MUSCOMOTOR SYSTEM AND PHYSICAL AND REHABILITATION MEDICINE).
He is a registered member of the Italian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology (SIOT) and the Emilia-Romagna Triveneto Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology (SERTOT).

He is an associate member of the Italian Sports Medicine Federation (FMSI).

He served as a Councilor of SERTOT (Emilia-Romagna Triveneto Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology) for the 2016-2017 two-year period (previously for the 2012-2013 two-year period).

Awards and activities related to the role of doctor, orthopedic and traumatologist and University Professor He won the Luigi Rossoni Award for Best Presentation at the XXXVI National Congress of the Italian Society of Hand Surgery, Rome, September 30 - October 3, 1998, with a presentation on "Posterior Interosseous Nerve Compression Syndrome at the Elbow: Etiology and Clinical Pictures."

He served as tutor to Dr. Matteo Zanelli, a physician specializing in Orthopedics and Traumatology from Parma, at the 98th SIOT Congress "Joint Reconstruction - Delayed Fracture Consolidation," where he presented the presentation "Elbow Arthroplasty in Non-Traumatic Pathology: Analysis of Long-Term Results," held in Genoa, October 26-29, 2013, in collaboration with Drs. D. Aliani, F. Calderazzi, M. Corradi, and F. Ceccarelli. This presentation won the Best Presentation/Specialist Session award.

53rd National Congress of the Italian Society of Hand Surgery, Viterbo, October 7-9, 2015, "Evaluation of the Arm Pump and Pathogenetic Hypotheses in the World Superbike Championship," in collaboration with Drs. From August 1, 2006, to June 30, 2015, he was part of the medical staff of Parma F.C. as a team physician and performed sports orthopedic and traumatology services under an agreement with the Parma University Hospital and the University of Parma.

From the 2014-2015 to the 2021-2022 seasons, he worked in sports orthopedics and traumatology under an agreement with the University of Parma and as Medical Director of the men's youth sector for the professional football club Parma Calcio 1913.

From the 2022-2023 to the 2024-2025 seasons, he worked in sports orthopedics and traumatology under an agreement with the University of Parma and as Medical Director of the men's youth sector and the first team and women's youth sector for the professional football club Parma Calcio 1913.

From the 2025-2026 season, he worked in sports orthopedics and traumatology under an agreement with the University of Parma and as Medical Director of the men's youth sector for the professional football club Parma Calcio 1913.

Since the 2018-2019 season, he has also coordinated the clinical and scientific activities of Parma's orthopedics and traumatology trainees, who are completing their training in sports traumatology at Parma Calcio 1913 under a specific agreement between the two institutions.

Until the end of 2022 (activity started in 2014) he carried out clinical and research activities (topic "Epidemiology, prevention and treatment of acute and chronic injuries in the MOTOGP/Superbike motorcycle championship") as a specialist/consultant in Orthopedics and Traumatology of the Clinica Mobile He has been also Coordinator/Tutor of the clinical and scientific activity of the residents in Orthopedics and Traumatology of Parma who carry out their training experience in Sports Traumatology at the Clinica Mobile on the circuits of the MOTOGP/Superbike motorcycle world championship.

CARE ACTIVITIES AND SURGICAL CASE SERIES He was a visiting specialist at the Institute of Orthopedic and Traumatology Clinic from November 15, 2002, to January 31, 2003.
From February 1, 2003, to March 31, 2003, he signed a private practice contract at the Parma Hospital (Orthopedic Clinic Unit). This contract was renewed from April 14, 2003, to March 30, 2004, and then from April 1, 2004, to December 30, 2004. This contract was extended on July 1, 2003, to include on-call work at the Orthopedic Clinic Unit.
From January 17, 2005, to January 31, 2005, he was a Medical Director at the Parma Hospital, Osteoarticular Department, Orthopedic Clinic Unit.
Since February 1, 2005, he has been providing healthcare under an agreement with the Parma University Hospital at the Orthopedic Clinic, holding a "Case Manager" contract until 2010 and subsequently an "Expert Case Manager" position. He performs all required healthcare activities there (orthopedic on-call service, surgical and ward on-call service, trauma clinic and specialist orthopedic hip, wrist, and hand clinic, orthopedic and trauma operating room, and orthopedic and trauma ward).

Since 2011, he has been the contact person for the Orthopedic Clinic of the Parma University Hospital for the SiCher project.

Since 2018, he has been the contact person for the Orthopedic Clinic of the Parma University Hospital. Orthopedic Clinic of the University Hospital of Parma, overseeing outpatient and pre-admission activities, hip replacements, and metal-on-metal issues, as well as liaising with the Emergency Department.
He has participated as a first operator or tutor for doctors in Orthopedics and Traumatology specialty training in over 6,000 surgical procedures.
He serves as Acting Director of the Orthopedic Clinic in the absence of Director Prof. Enrico Vaienti.
