Dr. Laura Giovati graduated with full marks in Agro-Industrial Biotechnology at the University of Verona. During the final thesis, she worked at the Department of Applied Chemistry and Microbiology of the Helsinki University (Finland). In 2006 she won a four-year grant by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) for a Ph.D. student position at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of Parma, earning the PhD in Microbiology and Virology in 2010. From 2010 to 2014, she was awarded by Post-doctoral Research Fellowships in the field of Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology at the University of Parma, participating as a member of the Examination Boards in Microbiology from 2013. Since 2014, Laura Giovati is a Researcher in Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology at the Department of Medicine and Surgery, University of Parma. Teaching activities of Laura Giovati include lecturing in Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology in various degree courses of the University of Parma, as well as tutoring and supervising of both undergraduating and graduated students during their academic and research activities. She is a member of the teacher board for the Research Doctorate in Molecular Medicine at the same University. Laura Giovati has been involved in research projects funded by national and international Institutions and she authored and co-authored various peer-reviewed publications, including journals papers, scientific book chapters, and contributions in national and international conferences.
