EDUCATION
January 1, 2007-December 31, 2009 Ph.D. in Science and Technology of Innovative Materials, University of Parma
2004-2006 Master's Degree in Science and Technology of Innovative Materials, University of Parma
2001-2004 Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science and Technology, University of Parma

RESEARCH INTERESTS
Research activities in the field of materials synthesis and characterization, with a focus on structure-property relationships in inorganic systems (primarily oxides, fluorides, and sulfides). Use of solid-state reactions conducted under standard and controlled-atmosphere conditions, as well as high pressure/high temperature. Synthesis and crystal growth under hydrothermal/solvothermal, melt, and sol-gel conditions. Structural characterizations based on X-ray diffraction of single crystals, powders, and epitaxial thin films; electron diffraction combined with transmission electron microscopy, with synchrotron radiation and neutrons, aimed at studying structural, electrical, and magnetic phase transitions.

Public Engagement Initiatives

  • UNIPRovando!
