Born in 1966 in Nocera Inferiore (SA), Classical High School Diploma, Military Service in the Air Force, he graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Siena where he obtained a specialization in Diagnostic Imaging in 1999. In 2005 he obtained a research doctorate in "Advanced cardio-pulmonary diagnostic imaging with three-dimensional techniques" at the University of Parma.
He completed his professional training in the field of Musculoskeletal, Abdominal and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance with attendance at the Diagnostic Imaging department of the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN (USA).
From 2000 to 2003 he served as 1st level medical director in the complex structure of Radiology of the CTO Hospital of Turin and from 2003 to 2005 he was 1st level medical director in the complex structure of Radiological Sciences of the University Hospital of Parma.

Since 2005, he has been a professor and examiner of Diagnostic Imaging in the Specialization Schools of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Physiatry, Rheumatology, General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Cardiology and Oncology.
In 2006, as a radiologist, he was a member of the medical team of the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics.
Since 2007 he has assumed ever increasing responsibilities within the Diagnostic Department of the Parma University Hospital.
In the four-year period 2007-2011 he was Councilor of the Musculoskeletal Radiology Section of the Italian Society of Interventional Radiology (SIRM). From 2014 to 2018 he was a Director of the SIRM Steering Committee. Member of the SIRM "Research Group on Imaging in Rheumatology" since 2018. Director of the Diagnostic Imaging Section in Oncology of the SIRM (2018-2021).
From 2011 to 2020 ″Associate Editor” of the Anglo-American journal “BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders”. Author of over 200 scientific articles, many of which published in prestigious high impact factor journals (Radiology, American Journal of Roentgenology, Blood, European Radiology, Arthroscopy) with over 1800 citations.
Level II University Professor since 2019, with qualification for Level I in 2017, of Diagnostic Imaging, at the Department of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Parma, with a full-time assistance contract in the Parma University Hospital .
Since 2020 he has been President of the Degree Course in Medical Radiology and Radiotherapy Techniques. In the last 20 years he has been a speaker at about 150 national and international radiology congresses. He was scientific manager of some research projects in the Diagnostic Imaging sector.
